Here at Kenda Kaye Design & Events, I strive to help Central Illinois couples create the wedding of their dreams while saving them time and money.

As a design guru and former bride myself, I know how it is to go into wedding plan full-force. With great excitement we book our venue, our photographer, and a few others. We create a Pinterest board full of images that encompass the type of seems like a great way to make the wedding of our dreams more affordable.

The problem is, DIY is kinda’ hard.

Most brides are busy working a full time job. Finding the time to do research, prepare a cost analysis, go shopping, and create the DIY thing itself is next to impossible.

And then there’s the cost of materials, which may be cheaper than the finished version you can buy on etsy, buttttttt doesn’t end up saving you any money once you take into consideration the inevitable cost of the second set of materials after a few mistakes are made.

And then there’s always the DIY-gone-wrong stories. The Pinterest fails. I can’t tell you how many Brides are left feeling completely overwhelmed on their wedding day because when creating their DIY items, they overlooked lighting, florals, furniture, or venue layout.

Or sometimes, you’ll end up with a wedding that looks like someone vomited random wedding decorations out into the room with no direction or focus.

The truth is, creating a wedding that is undeniably you but also budget and time conscious is harder than it seems.

It’s the same way with weddings. As a designer, I spend my professional life sweating the small details and looking for ways to accomplish big projects with a small budget. Plus, I’ve designed my packages and pricing in a way that brings your wedding design dreams to life but in a way that saves time, money, and stress.

Hiring a wedding designer gives you the breathing room to really enjoy the wedding planning process. While you devote your energy to some of the more “fun” aspects of wedding planning— like selecting cocktail hour apps or going wedding dress shopping— I’ll be doing the grunt work.

my process

In order to best serve my couples & keep my services affordable, I offer an al la carte menu where you and your partner can hand select which services of mine you’d like to utilize and which ones to skip.

if you find yourself at max capacity and unable to make any more decisions, I’ve got an all-inclusive package that includes every single service I offer for a slightly smaller fee than it would be to build this package on your own.

  • Since we will be working side-by-side throughout the entire wedding planning process, I prefer to meet my couples before they hire me. Whether it’s a phone call, FaceTime, coffee date, or meeting up for drinks, lets make sure we are the right fit for each other.

    In addition to getting to know one another, I’ll share my brochure with you, and answer any questions you might have.

  • After you guys have decided to book, I’ll send out a welcome packet as well as an in-depth questionnaire so I can get to know you both better. A very important part of the process if you want a wedding that feels authentically you.

  • Together we go through all the wedding inspo. you have saved—dream up a few things of our own—and then narrow it down to create your wedding mood board which will include font & color pallet selection. That way we have a more curated peek into your wedding day.

    We will also discuss budget. Together, these two things will help us approach wedding decisions with a more edited and intentional approach.

  • Pending on your package, I will custom design your Invitation Suit—save the dates, RSVP cards, wedding invitations, directions/map card, etc.—as well as your other wedding stationary needs. Think rehearsal dinner information, wedding programs, QR cards, escort cards, place cards, table number cards, menu cards, wedding favor tags, or whatever else your heart desires.

    After obtaining your approval, I can handle the professional, eco-conscious, printing & mailing. All while you sit back and enjoy being engaged.

  • We will also coordinate a site visit to your venue to visualize where everything will go, devise a layout, and detailed floor plan, as well as identify any potential problems.

  • I’ll be tagging along with you to guide you with intentional selections regarding your venue, flowers, furniture, linens, and attire. Ensuring all decisions contribute to the cohesive style you want for your wedding.

  • How involved you want me in the DIY process is completely up to you. I can simply create the design of each piece to guide you in your creation of it. Or, my team and I will do the research, shopping, designing, and building. You get to pick and choose what you want. Either way, we’ll completely cover your:
